This happened to me yesterday. My network guy said the LAN connection was
DISABLED. So, check START>MY NETWORK PLACES>VIEW NETWORK CONNECTIONS.
Your LAN connection should say Connected.

IPCONFIG does not work in any of its parameters. It just returns me to the
DOS prompt. There is some other command.

IPCONFIG does not work. Hard coding an IP address does not
work. A system restore does not work. I'm stumped.
