Human interface Interface modernization is no longer a nice-to-have
project goal for green screen. We have long needed a new default user
interface. We can't keep improving the engine and gas mileage and
ignore the steering wheel and dashboard. I think this has always been
the #1 reason behind past decisions to take the risk of a new
platform. How many years does it take for that to sink in at IBM?

An example from today's WSJ edition
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB119161871891550536.html
"Making Sure Your Stores Guard the Data"
Subject -> protecting your identity

Excerpt-> "Look at the equipment. If the cash register has one of
those old-fashioned green computer screens, chances are its security
is also from a bygone era"

Stories like this provide buzzwords and SCREEN COLOR identification to
allow those that consume I/T to form their opinions. This effects
unrelated projects, convincing the project sponsors what kind of
interface is acceptable in today's I/T model.

Being labeled part of a "bygone era" is hardly testimony for product
excellence and corresponding market value for release x.xx of your
green screen app or the box itself - which you can imagine will NEVER
show an i5 native UI in a commercial.
Since the native interface is "out" we choose another UI. The big
modernization question.
