1 - You will not be happy bypassing the save to the save file. Try this.
"Save" your item master by ftping that to the server. Now, delete your
item master and try to ftp it back. It may go. However you will not have
any fields or anything - it should be one big field instead. I find it
hard to believe that would be acceptable to you.

2 - In V5R4 they added virtual tape. You could save to an entry in your
IFS and then ftp that to your server. Now, your faster tape drives may
blow this away unless you create a directory in your IFS that is on a
different ASP so you are not beating on the same disk controllers or
disks. As of V5R4 you cannot create your image catalog entries on your
server and thus save directly to that server. Perhaps that will be
subject to change in some future release.
