I am looking for well tested low maint options for a native homegrown mfg database (hundreds of files) to "feed" an executive management system
on a MS SQL Server. They prefer "near real time(within reason)", not nightly download. Many files are already triggered and could be modified to update summary files.
Need some way of handling that either the iSeries or the MS Server may go offline for a while and do not want manual intervention to be required.
Would not like to reinvent the wheel.
Can it be as simple as having the SQL Server pgms just connect & read files on the system i?
