I use the SAV command to save IFS objects to tape. Saving to a savf,
tape seems redundant me, and not a wise use of disk space, if it's goingto
tape anyway, and the tape drive is fast enough.. Currently I have theSAV
command put the list of objects saved into a .txt file on the IFS, but aobjects
user space would work just as well for me. Those are the only two
that the SAV command will What I see is the the information has to beuser
processed by a program. One that accesses the variable length of the
space or txt file. I just was looking for someone who has alreadywritten a
program to process the list information to display, or print, or adatabase
file. Before I write that program, I was wanting to know if anyone hadsuch
a beast to share.a
Thanks!

Hi Jim,
Are you saying you use the SAV command to save IFS objects into a user
space? Or into an IFS text file? How do you do that?
If you SAV to a normal save file, you can use DSPSAVF *PRINT.

Greetings,and
Before I re-invent the wheel, does anyone have a program that they can
would be willing to share to read and display or print the contents of
auser space or IFS txt file that is the result of a SAV command? I do
http://code.midrange.com/andweekly SAV, and want to be able to show auditors that certain objectswere
saved, when and what tape volume they are on. I did a quick search ofthe
archives, but found no reference. Output to a file would be just asgood.
If you would be willing to share, you can send to me personally, but I
believe it would be better to post the code on
then post the link to the code you shared. That way it will beavailable
for more people.--
Thanks!
