The reason PEAPAR ["PE APAR"] of SI23296 being unresolved and naming
a PTF identifier of SE25337 [which is actually an APAR identifier]
indicates that the PTF SI23396 was marked /unavailable/ for ordering.
AFaIK there is no manner to denote a reason for a PTF being marked
unavailable, there is only the one status "PE" meaning Programming
Error; which implies a /defect/ with the PTF. Thus even if there were
some administrative reason for making the PTF unavailable irrespective
of defect, the status would still show as PE.
The status of unresolved with an APAR identifier referenced,
indicates that there is no available PTF [identifier nor GA fix]
associated with the APAR SE25337 which is identified as the APAR
tracking identifier that will be used to resolve the status of the
unorderable PTF.
Although the APAR SE25337 text clearly identifies SI23296, I wonder
for the lack of any information available [beyond that the APAR was
opened on 2006/04/19 and apparently since unchanged] and the fact that
that the PTF SI23296 has been on a cumulative since c6297540, if it
might not have been a finger check. Was there an explicit order of
SI23296 included in the request?
I recommend inquiring of IBM about the error condition in the order.
It may be that the BRMS group incorrectly calls out SI23296, when
there would be a different PTF that should be named in/by the group.
Regards, Chuck
