Given how easy it is to fake pictures and videos, why should an auditor be satisfied with either? How could you prove the drive getting shot (by the gun) is the one getting shot (by the camera)?

But so what if you destroy the drive? How can you prove to the auditor you didn't make 200 backup copies and sell them? After all, it's the information on the drive that's valuable, not the drive itself.

Last time I destroyed a drive with a gun and used a pic for documentation, they complained I went to the "extreme" to prove my point. I still got a "minor" point on the audit.
