Good if you haven't cleared QSYSOPR. Does it also log to DSPHST? Why
can't he do DSPPTF, which (I believe) is definitive?

How about at the top of DSPMSG QSYSOPR? During the IPL, I get a message
like:

Message . . . . : IPL from machine area ##MACH#B.

this Initial Program Load (IPL).
I'm not sure this corresponds to the IPL side, but I think so.
