Is there a way to tell SQL to use the fields from
a particular file here without naming all the fields?
I believe the new v6r1 5722-ESP licensed program will provide that feature. <tic>
Seriously though, using SELECT * is not usually a good idea.
By doing so, you are throwing away one big benefit of SQL, the ability to add fields to the table
without effect existing procedures.
Thus, you'd be better off specifying the fields from the first select in addition to the ones in the
second.
I usually use STRSQL's prompting to quickly build a list of fields I want to use.
