I recall seeing that once in the Cume instructions. It has been so long
ago (or maybe it's the gray hair, which is simply the gray cells
escaping) that I don't recall the steps. That is, I do remember that I
was using CD's at the time, but I don't recall if I had to install a
specific PTF, re-IPL, and then apply the entire Cume, or if the install
process did that automagically with me just IPLing a second time. I do
recall that there were special instructions in the Cume's cover letter;
there are no such instructions in this Cume's instructions.
All of which seems rather academic today. The cover letter is for Level
7107, which I already have installed. Obviously should have checked the
Tech Support Bulletin's links before starting the download. Duh...
Guess I'll move on to the Groups.
But it's still worth knowing for future reference the correct sequence
and procedure. Chad's process was the one that I used with the last
Cume and some individual PTF's, but I like Rob's suggestion of loading
all with a delay PTF as it seems like it would save a little time.
Thanks.

No biggie.

Paul,
I always (except during an OS upgrade)
load the cume with INSPTF LICPGM((*ALL)) DEV(OPTVRT01) INSTYP(*DLYALL)
load the groups with INSPTF LICPGM((*ALL)) DEV(OPTVRT01) INSTYP(*DLYALL)
load the misc ones with INSPTF LICPGM((*ALL)) DEV(OPTVRT01)
INSTYP(*DLYALL)
after the various LODIMGCLG's. All during the week. And then IPL during
the weekend. Don't recall ever running into the issue you mention.
