You might get a clearer picture if you think in terms of exit points.
Exit points define an interface that is used to provide communications
between a vendor's product and another program. Exit points provide the
capability to extend functionality through the use of exit programs.
You can find examples for FTP at the InfoCenter under networking.

There has been a lot of "talk" in one of the recent treads mentioning
exit programs. I have heard the term for years, but have never worked
with them. Can some briefly explain what they are, how they are used,
maybe point me to a common IBM supplied program I could look at, etc.
