Tim,

An exit point program is a program designed to be called by vendor code at a specified position in the
vendor job stream.

This allows your code to do something extra before the vendor's code continues.

For example IBM provides an FTP server logon exit point, which allows your code to do additional
validation to determine if a user is allowed to logon to the FTP server.

Charles

Subject: Exit point programs

There has been a lot of "talk" in one of the recent treads
mentioning exit programs. I have heard the term for years,
but have never worked with them.
Can some briefly explain what they are, how they are used,
maybe point me to a common IBM supplied program I could look
at, etc. Thanks, Tim
