There are a plethora of reasons. I'm no expert but the benefits are
pretty exciting...

Integrity improvements
Performance improvements
Function improvements

There are some specifics to each of these areas. Not sure if the
Redpaper covers it or not. If not then we should no some of the
specifics soon.

Pretty significant changes. I'm sure it will cause some issues but
there are a whole slew of enhancements. I am interested to see how the
market handles it - this may separate vendors from the crowd.

IBM has put some significant efforts into this. I'd recommend anyone
looking at the benefits before getting to wigged out.
