We recently replaced a IBM IPDS line printer with an HP laser. I had to tweak the HP's printer device config with a WSCST object to correct printing size on spool files that we getting rotated and shrunk. This configuration was a non IPDS typical 3812 LAN setup. That worked out good.

But I had to add the IPDS functionality to the printer by creating another device description as type *IPDS, which has no option for WSCST because it doesn't use print transform. If I send non IPDS type spool files to the IPDS printer they have the original problem of being rotated and shrunk. Is there a way to accomplish the same function I get with WSCST on the IPDS printer?

For now we are using two different device descriptions to get it all done, but they have to be careful to hold writers etc. when setting up for special print jobs and forms. I would prefer to have on device description.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

-Steve
