Since you are using the ftp client on the i5 then you can try it
interactively, to itself. Try this command:
?
The question mark will bring up help. Tab over to "subcommands", press
Enter.
In the DOS world DIR is pretty common. In the Linux world ls is pretty
common. Often interchangeable.

Delete is for the remote system, not the local system. You could execute
a syscmd or a ! (exclamation point), they're the same. You can even do a
! del myfile.txt

But are you sure the transmission was successful? Look for FTPAPI. This
has a better granularity of control. For example if the PUT is
unsuccessful you will get immediate feedback and you may not want to
delete the file on your system.
