Subject: Weak Battery Options

I have had my system "spontaneously" IPL a couple of time over the last
couple of days. Looking at the job log I see a CPI0979 notifying me
that " The system was previously powered down because utility power
failed and the battery weak condition was detected." Yeah.
Failed for like, a nanosecond. A power "flicker" shouldn't cause the
system to panic and shut down just because the batteries are weak,
should it? I would guess the system would run a couple of minutes on
the UPS even on weak batteries, before it gave up the ghost.

Is there any place to tell this old 270 to hold it's horses on shutting
down for at least a few seconds before deciding to shut down if the
power flickers off for a heartbeat of time? We have been hovering
around 100 degrees lately here in Salt Lake and I expect brownouts and
flickers are going to be commonplace.

Or, should I just buy some new batteries so old "nervous Nellie" won't
panic when the power fluctuates?

Thanks

Pete Helgren
