I understand your point about "added cost" versus "supplied with the OS".
However I feel I need to point out that BRMS was often included with
certain package deals. We got it with one of those deals and have never
used it.
Now, there are those who probably feel that something that comes with the
OS can't be that good and one should have to pay extra for one that is
full featured. We call these people "those who have not come from the IBM
midrange family". And, if you want, there are options out there for you
to purchase. Items for backup, tape management, job scheduling, etc.
