I use SNDMSG from a CL job-stream to QSYSOPR or a separate MSGQUE as a high level debug ... the program stream got this far & at that point certain values were, with heavy use of *BCAT to make the resulting "log" meaningful and readable.

List,

I want to send an informational message that will appear on QSYSOPR as it
would from a COBOL program executing DISPLAY UPON CONSOLE. I thought that
SNDPGMMSG was the correct command to use but I am not seeing my message
anywhere. Am I misunderstanding what SNDPGMMSG can do? Is there some other
command I should be using? TIA

SNDPGMMSG MSG('Return code did NOT get set') TOMSGQ(*SYSOPR)
