Lyle, b4 the save is started on the backup is there a period of
syncing/checkpointing occurring on the systems? I'm assuming that at some
point processing waits on the source for a short time then the save starts on
the target and processing continues on the source. Is that how it works?
Are you using Mimix or iTera/Vision?

HA, we bring down our links and backup the target system. No down time.

Well management has changed their minds again. At first the decided that
if month end fell during the week, the month end procedures would stay
the same. Now they do not want the lengthy down time that it would
require.
Among other Net Work saves, we also stop the Sub-Systems and do a SAVSYS
and SAVLIB(NONSYS). They do not want to give up the convenience and
security that this kind of backup gives.
I would like to here from others on how they handle these two save if
done during the week, or how they handle a month end backup during the
week.
I am begging to see Dilbert's point of view...
Thanks,
