We are running V5R3M0.
Right now we are talking with the application developer, that will
change the archiving options to smaller file and one lib per month.

What version and release are you running? We had a similar problem
which
was resolved with an OS upgrade. We also made an effort to reduce the
number of members, but IIRC this was our Help Systems Robot/REPORTS
library.
