I pushed some changes from a V5R4 box to a V5R3 box yesterday. Part of the push was to create a new LF; to find the PF's (1-n libraries) I simply wrote a DSPOBJD to an outfile and read through it.

Obviously I tested the process, and it worked fine on the V5R4 box. I forget the error that I received on the V5R3 box, though it didn't say anything about level check. The error was on the RCVF command. Re-compiled the CL and it ran fine.

So -that's- how they do it! (: I have noticed that from release to release some jobs that use outfiles post messages in the job log that the file used for output doesn't match the file provided by IBM.

With all due respect to Rob (who really knows his stuff), IBM has a
tendency to add new fields to the end of output files which are all (?)
generated as LVLCHK(*NO), so this should not break applications on a
release boundary change.
