Steve Mills, the long time exec in charge of software at IBM, is featured in an article today in the wall street journal. The article does a very good job of explaining IBM's approach to growing its software footprint thru acquistions. Looks like Mills is 100% sales and marketing. Great for profits but chilling none the less. It helps explain why IBM has done nothing on its own initiative, core OS, language and run time framework wise since the days of ILE, OS/2 and SAA. -Steve
