Yes. We are at (don't hit me:-)) V4R5 and are using MAPICS XAR6. To upgrade Inovis we would have to upgrade to at least V5R1 and our CFO does not want to do this. It would kill us with licensing with MAPICS, for one thing. The only long term cost we will have is the monthly fee to the outsourcing company. No VAN, no inhouse EDI package, etc... The only inhouse cost would be my cost for modifing the programs that I have written for the interface. This would probably be for just adding new customers. This would be a very small project to do, to add more customers. This way, our EDI solution will be always using the most up to date version of EDI for our Customers. And, I don't have to change a thing, which I like. I've written programs that will handle 810, 850, 830 and 856 transactions. I also get feedback from the outsource company when they receive 997s from our Customers. Nick Nick Radich Sr. Programmer/Analyst EPC Molding, Inc. So the cost savings are: - Maintenance of the EDI package (and some of those tiered prices are pretty steep) - Paying any VAN fees. - Labor costs in maintaining certificates for SFTP, etc. You still have the costs of integrating the data into your back end software. Is that, conceptually, about it? Rob Berendt
