I'm partial to Inovis, from using the older Premenos software and found it to be very good in terms of AS/400 packages - screen navigation is easy, help text, etc..
From my experience, it appears that Sterling's GENTRAN package is an
application that was ported from the mainframe and is not very user or developer-friendly.

We're looking for an EDI translation/mapping package.  We'd prefer it
to run on our i5, but we're not going to be dogmatic about it if it's
easy to integrate with the i5.  Any recommendations/warnings?  In
searching the archives, it looks like TrustedLink and Gentran are
pretty frequently used.
