Hi, Trevor:I did not say "naming the server" ... I said, "refer to the platform". There is a difference...
For example, most people do not say that they are running an "HP Pavilion" or "Compaq DeskPro", they say they are running "Windows XP" or "Windows 2000" or just a "Windows PC."
It is the "platform" on which the software runs that matters -- that dictates (or is dictated by) what applications you run.

Mark, You have confused me. How can naming a server the same as the OS ~reduce~ any confusion? Trevor----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark S. With V5R3, the name was changed to "i5/OS" and even V5R3 internally still says "OS/400" ... (this was "fixed" in V5R4).Why not simply refer to the "platform" as "i5/OS" or "OS/400" ... and all of this "naming" confusion goes away...?That's my opinion, Mark S. Waterbury
