Hi, Rob: Tell that to my BlackBerry running Idokorro Mobile SSH. That (and Robot/Alert which isn't relevant to this discussion) have given my freedom back in the evening. I am loathe to depend on anything that requires multiple screens. Of course, I don't lug reference manuals around with me either [grin]. But I DO have some key PDFs available via the Web (my own site, personal access only). Mostly, I simply don't LIKE the limited display that results from using F1 on a prompted command. For example, CRTDUPOBJ requires eight screens just to get to the error messages, which fill all or part of three screens. For me that makes it inelegant, and for me therefore inefficient. I think it is quite efficient. Most times, when I need to know what messages to monitor I am in an editor adding the command. No big deal
to
prompt it and get the answer. Unless your editor of choice is EDTF. If you don't like that then dump your single session proprietary
terminal
and get a PC that can support multiple 5250 sessions. But compared to a book (or a PDF
file
for that matter) it has all of the efficiency and elegance of the old
DOS
games that emulated graphics by displaying custom characters on an 80x25
char screen [grin]. And there are some circumstances when it just isn't practical to stop what you are doing to prompt a command. Darrell Darrell A. All of the error
codes
are listed there. Good Luck, JeffThis e-mail, including attachments, may contain information that is confidential and/or proprietary, and may only be used by the person to whom this email is addressed. If the recipient of this e-mail is not the
