The next version of RPG will have the ability to write XML. SEQUEL has been able to do it for quite a while. -- Paul Nelson Arbor Solutions, Inc. 708-670-6978 Cell pnelson@xxxxxxxxxx "Michael Ryan" <michaelrtr@xxxxxxxxx> Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 01/21/2007 10:00 AM Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To "Midrange Systems Technical Discussion" <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Subject Re: RPG > XML conversions Sure...anytime. I'm wondering if they want to store their data in XML files rather than physical files. There's a lot to be not said for that. XML is a pretty good way of exchanging data, especially between disparate systems. However, if all your data was described and stored using XML, you wouldn't have a relational data base. I'd be happy to get on a conference call with you and your client if you want. Gratis of course... - Michael On 1/21/07, Don <dr2@xxxxxxxx> wrote:Mike, well, yeah, that's what I thought as well, but they were rather sure of their point of migrating from RPG to XML.
