Let me try this again.... No, Linoma was the only vendor we found that could do SSH/SFTP using both password and key exchange. nuBridges (formerly Trailblazer) has a product that does SSH/SFTP using key exchange, and the OPENSSH included in I5 OS at no charge (in the PASE environment) also does SSH/SFTP using key exchange, but neither of these products included the ability to do SFTP using both a password and key exchange. Our trading partner also required that the SFTP do userID/password andkeyexchange, which was the limitation most of the products could not do.
Talk to your trading partner about this issue. user/password and key exchange are mutually exclusive and cannot be used in the same connection, so if you have exchanged keys then you do not need user/password anymore. Some sftp clients support unattended user/password as well as key exchange. Putty has the psftp.exe utility that can be used in this way. So does the mindterm java ssh client, that seems like the most logical solution for the as400. http://www.appgate.com/products/80_MindTerm/110_MindTerm_Download/ In the (freely available) source code, there is an examples package that contains a rudimentary sftp client with user/password support. Since it is java, it can probably be made to run on iseries. Shalom Carmel ---------------- www.venera.com
