Our trading partner also required that the SFTP do userID/password andkeyexchange, which was the limitation most of the products could not do.
Talk to your trading partner about this issue. user/password and key exchange are mutually exclusive and cannot be used in the same connection, so if you have exchanged keys then you do not need user/password anymore.
Some sftp clients support unattended user/password as well as key exchange. Putty has the psftp.exe utility that can be used in this way.So does the mindterm java ssh client, that seems like the most logical solution for the as400.
