Like doing something as stupid as: D myextds ds extname(outfile) /free exec sql declare c1 cursor for select * from outfile; exec sql open c1; exec sql fetch c1 into :myextds; // once again, if the outfile layout changes this program will bomb. To fix this: D myextds ds extname(outfile) QUALIFIED /free exec sql declare c1 cursor for select THIS, THAT, THEOTHERTHING from outfile; exec sql open c1; exec sql fetch c1 into :myextds.THIS, :myextds.THAT, :myextds.THEOTHERTHING; Rob Berendt
