Not sure what you mean by "method of transfer". Are you referring to ssh1 and/or ssh2? Rge connection utilizes username/password.
The problem is that they change servers at somewhat random intervals. FileZillamanages to update whatever needs updating and things continue on nicely.I'm going to snip the rest. If you connect by name to the client rather than IP address, then there is no difference between using FileZilla and sftp from iSeries. If your dns configuration on iSeries is not correct or if you have firewall or routing issues, then you have your answer.
Connection is made using a name. But, they have multiple servers - different ip
addreses. One manual transfer resulted in a failed connection as a different server was not in the known_hosts file. Servers change for reasons I do not understand. Yet FileZilla has no difficulty dealing with the changes. Why doesn't FileZilla have difficulties with replacement systems while sftp does?
FileZilla is a great program. It's not going to work any extra magic for you, though.
I agree that it is nice. But, so far, it requires human involveent to function. What I would like is a secure file transfer that runs in batch whensubmitted by the job scheduler. And, that does NOT entail farming out tasks to
a Windows box.
