Well you learn something new every day.  :-)

I suppose the creators of some applications don't want people messing about 
with their stuff or just want to make it more difficlut for them if they do.

I agree if you have to hardcode a lib then I would pick QTEMP also.

I used to think that way also.  But there are applications out there that 
assume their library is first and if they mean QTEMP then they'll hardcode 
for it.  I guess if you have to pick a library to hardcode, I'd pick QTEMP 
over a production library any day.
