IIRC correctly the reason that people started moving QTEMP lower in the libl is that users with QRY/400 or SQL could create files with the same name as a production file & cause problems with production data (although I think that it impacting production data is not a concern IF you apps are compiled to perform a level check...). QTEMP for a job can be altered from another job...(but if you know how you should be smart enough to NOT use that ability....) FWIW if I have a choice QTEMP will always be at the top of the list... QTEMP is ONLY used by the current job. Objects in that library have to be created BY that job for use by that job ONLY. We ALWAYS have QTEMP at the top of the user portion of the library list. I don't know of ANY value for QTEMP that would place it at the end of the list... ??? What am I missing here?? I t looks like I will have to move QTEMP to *FIRST, create the logical< and move it back to the *LAST. QTEMP being the last in the library list is just a "rule" at our shop. Why can't QTEMP be at the top of your library list? I have always thought that because of what it is that is the ideal place for it to
be.

There must be some other way to do this. I've got to be doing something wrong.
