RE: Range

Finding a canned package that handles YOUR file may be a little difficult.
Even if you found one that comes close, you might find that trying to
retrofit one into the other, you may have just rewritten it anyway (Been
there - done that WAY too many times.)

From my own experience, it might be easier/quicker just to re-write it.

My first impression (for what its worth) it doesn't look that bad to
rewrite from scratch.

User can then use a function key to assgined and unassgined by ranges.


This system has been pretty problematic.  We can ethier rewrtie it or
buy a can package.

If I read your statement right you are looking for an easy to use
solution to edit DB2 data?  I use Linoma's Surveyor tool for that (vs.
UPDDTA or WRKDBF or WRKQRY).  At my previous place of employment we also
used it for the QA staff so they could easily load test data.  Very nice
software and you get a free copy for a single developer on a machine so
you can test away to your hearts content until you are ready to buy.  If
you don't have more than one user on a machine needing access to the
tool then you can simply renew the product for free every 90 days -
minor annoyance for great benefit.
