Make sure that the Cisco configuration is coded to allow gigabit traffic
to and from the System i's.
Sometimes the network nazis forget that little setting. Back in October, I
discovered that despite having 100mb cards in the i's, the Cisco config
   was only permitting 10mb traffic.

     Subject: 520s going to Gigabit

On our 520 boxes we will be reconfiguring a 100mb ethernet connection to
some basic unmanaged switches to a gigabit ethernet connection to a
     Cisco
6509 and a Cisco 3560G. Other then the normal config items on the line
description for speed and duplex, are there any other items to be aware
     of?
(Or past gotchas experienced by listserv members...)?
