IXA is basically a xSeries server that is attached to the System i
through (byzantine) cabling. The xSeries has an IXA adapter Card and a
Remote Supervisor Adapter card so that it can communicate and share
resources with the System i. IXS is a card IN the System i. Either can
run Windows or Linux.
