RE: Saving the System i: Fight Rather Than Switch

Faking it with the current 5250 capabilities just won't cut it.


OK, I've _not_ read the entire thread, but I want to ask a general
question here... What's wrong with using any of the existing methods to
"GUI" your machine? Either J2EE in WebSphere or Tomcat, CGI, ASP.Net,
PHP, etc?

It seems to me that the System i is a Mac truck and the user base wants
a NASCAR interface. I don't care what you do to the truck, it's still
big, smelly, slow and ugly, however, without it all commerce would stop!
No one try to haul freight in a racecar and no one trys to win the
Nextel Cup in a Mac truck, stop trying!
