At one time on OS/400 we could not use the Operating System backup to backup anything in QUEUES ... OUTQ spool, DATAQ, JOBQ ... we had to come up with non-IBM systems to back that up if we needed or wanted to.

Perhaps it is soon time to change the thread subject header, since the content may have shifted to info of interest to other people.

This is very important information for me. As noted, we are gearing up for a
migration from VSE to iSeries. One process we must be able to duplicate is a
weekly backup to tape from the spooler of reports. I am still new to iSeries
so I wasn't aware of what (if any) limitations there were to this.We are
currently on v5r3m5 but this is incentive enough to begin preparation to
upgrade to v5r4.

Would you mind posting an example of a SAVOBJ command for backup up reports
from specific outqueues to tape? Thanks for your response.
