Great discussion chaps,

The thing is my colleague knows ASP rather well so that is what we are using,
we are taking all the points about security on board, but our main problem is
of course trying to put numeric data across to the iSeries. It seems that this
cannot be done so we will do the alpha load and convert thing. Thanks for your
time. :-)

Eduard, I will be changing my place of work very soon (not my choice tho'
unfortunately :-( ) and Amsterdam is nowhere near as bad as London, traffic
wise, although the way that most Dutch persons seem to drive I think they went
to the Kamikaze school of motoring :-)

So I am looking for a job, anyone know of any contracts in BC or Alberta
perhaps? :-)

Steve

I don't think we can hang our hats on not using SQL.

AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Richard, please read what I wrote. SQL is fine (especially if you avoid the
drawbacks, most of which you have addressed), but ODBC is bad.

Repeat after me: ODBC is NOT SQL.

ODBC is NOT SQL.

ODBC is NOT SQL.

(And ODBC is bad <grin>.)
