Nope, you won't bring down any bit of your managed system.  Shut down
away!

For fun, do a lamp test (function 04 on control panel) while the HMC is
offline - it'll go to HMC=0.  Then do a lamp test again when it's back
up - HMC=1.  Neat, huh?  Yep.  I'm full of all kinds of this useless
crap.
