Boot D-side on to an M5 I_BASE_01 disc and install it.  As Al alluded
to, slipping the SLIC.  I wouldn't think it to be necessary unless
there's some feature you require.  The PTF ordering screen does get
annoying though, doesn't it?

Then how do you put it on?  My system keeps downloading new PTF's that
it cannot apply because we are not at m5.  I thought you were upgraded
automatically thru the last Cume or two.

James, V5R3M5 will work just fine on 'any' Power 5 (5xx) models. You can
even put on selected 8xx (not all) and it will be fine. Now the 520+
requires M5 if you want to run V5R3 on it.
