Somewhere in WRKSYSVAL there should be settings related to the AS/400 handshake with the UPS. Basically how long to operate after power outage, or you can let system calculate this, and to what message queue to send news of events.

A UPS is not a device - will not see anything. Different brands have different ways of showing status - usually a light or set of lights - you might create a message queue named QSYSMSG - they you will see UPS messages in there (IIRC), along with other critical messages.

Bottom line - is your 520 running?

Get the user manual for the UPS.
