When I heard Michael Rousseaux (sp?) at LISUG, he hinted that there would be separate models appropriately priced. This was confirmed by many at COMMON also. The one thing about IBM is that they are very sharp on pricing, not releasing pricing until the eleventh hour. That is not to say that System i is inexpensive, but IBM eyes the entire System i value proposition. what is the price going to be? I attended the VoIP presentation at NESTU and was unclear as to why you would run the 3Com software on System i instead of a LAN attached xSeries. Will the 700 CPW needed for the Linux partition be sold at xSeries prices? That would be, what, $3000? What would be great is if IBM did that and then you could undo that Linux partition, move the VoIP software to the xSeries and run i5/OS in the 700 CPW slot you bought at market price. -Steve -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
