HiT Software (http://www.hitsw.com/) has a replication tool called dbMoto that automatically converts/replicates/syncronizes/mirrors vitually any db to db2/400 and vice versa.
One valuable use might be to replicate a legacy i5 datebase on Linux running mySQL so that old, non-changing db's might be available for query on a very cheap server.
This product could be used to replicate a complete Oracle db on db2 on the i5. It reads the meta data on the source machine, generates SQL script, and writes the same to the target machine using this script. It does replication, syncronization, and/or mirroring in real time. 

I think this concept will have great application.
