Opnqryf orders the file, including selections. A program can then add, update, or delete to the file, but it has to be done in a program.

Hi,

My remembrance is that OPNQRYF only reports, and does not update/delete
data, but I could be wrong.

Hi!

I would like to know if it is possible to delete records from a file with
the command OPNQRYF only if the first char of the record is equal to 'D'. I
don't know the name of the field at that position when I use the command in
my CLP... Something like:

If (%subst(Record:1:1) = 'D')
    Delete Record

directly in a OPNQRYF command...

Thanks in advance for your answers
Charles
