That's the way DSPJRN works. You need a utility to DSPJRN to a properly formatted outfile then query the file. You could roll your own, or download/buy one. We use Prodata's DBU utility here. It includes a DBUJRN command that does what is outlined above. HTH, Charles Wilt -- iSeries Systems Administrator / Developer Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America ph: 513-573-4343 fax: 513-398-1121

This part seems to be working fine. However I am running into difficulties when I try to work with the information captured in the journal receivers. Some of the fields in this file are packed numeric fields and these aren't shown properly when I do a DSPJRN (it doesn't matter whether its to an output file or a spool file or to my display). Do I have any options here? Did I miss something when I set up the journaling that would take care of this? thanks -doug ***************************** DOUGLAS JOHNSON System Administrator University Book Store 711 State Street Madison, WI 53703 djohnson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx phone (608)310-5970 fax (608)257-9479 -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
