I had a programmer come over to me and ask how they could create their output file in XML. I guess they need to create a file that has their data described with XML. That file will be FTP to the business partner later in the batch cycle. I realize the idea of creating a file with XML and FTPing it could cause some people to twitch but I guess the BP doesn't have a web service to send it to. For some reason they still would like to get the file XML encoded. I put the XML toolkit on for another project that I'm working on but have had to get involved with it other than installing it. My first thought was just create all the XML tags in the working storage and just write the data out after moving it to the correct format but that seems clunky. I'm sure there is an easier way to do this. (writing an XML 'document' to a physical file to be FTPed later) Any suggestions? TIA Mike.
