Quick, tell me the difference between an iSeries and a pSeries. We can get THE EXACT SAME PROCESSOR in a 520, see: http://www-5.ibm.com/at/events/infotage2006/pdf/IBM_System_i5_Announceme nt_Jan_2006.pdf I apologize for the foreign link, I couldn't find the American English version. Heck, the pSeries config is more limited than the iSeries, if you need it you can put your AIX in a partition on your iSeries. Or just run Linux. You can run Linux as an i5/OS guest for approximately $0. What's a 520 cost these days? I'll bet you can get a pretty good one for $50K. Read the fine print: four dual-core POWER5+(TM) processor chips. It IS a iSeries, at least that's what I'm telling my management!
