No plans for either at this point. We are entering the HMC world for it's remote and multi-system capabilities. We've got 3 boxes in 2 locations that we want to be able to manage from various points in the network (and occasionally from outside the network!). BTW your chart of the systems displays fine if you use no proportional type styles like courier. Glenn At 01:47 PM 7/6/2006, ChadB@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote:
I'll answer some of them... ;) The additional MES costs are for rack mounting, rack, additional DASD,
tape
controller, tape library, cords, PDUs, HMC, monitor, etc. Adds up quick! The higher figure is with the expansion cabinet and all the extras it entails. "Steve Richter" <stephenrichter@g mail.com>

Pretty far down the food chain... ;) It will come in around either $60k or $80k after the added MES items depending on the disk controller approach we choose (5727 and 5776 in
CEC
or 5727 in CEC and 5580 in an 0595 expansion).guessing you are the "520 express growth RAID ( 7143 )" - $29,797 list price. What would the additional $30-$50K from the base price be for? Domino software? MES that is an expansion box? Is that for the additional drives? That is why I ask about the 35GB drives. PC drives are much larger. If the drives were 200GB would you need the expansion? I understand the disk arms and all but maybe the large disk cache obviates the need for arms. Dont mind me. You dont have to go into detail or answer at all if your worn out :) ( thanks for the chart. It displays well when I copy/paste into outlook ) -Steve -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing
