Rob,

Interesting reply given the answer I got from IBM.

Care to elaborate?

Yes, it is Gospel. IPL after the cume before applying any
groups, etc.

Subject
V5r4 Upgrade, IPL required between Cume and Group PTF installs

All,

Normally, when installing cume and group PTFs, I install the
group PTFs
first followed by the cume PTFs.

However, the v5r4 upgrade instructions seem to be pretty clear to
install the cume PTFs prior to installing group PTFs.

My question is, do you need to do the automatic IPL for the
cume PTFs to
be applied (and wait for INZSYS to complete) before
installing the group
PTFs?

I don't remember how I did the v5r3 upgrade <grin>

Thanks,

Charles Wilt
